Okay, this was hot and awesome, and I loved the dirtyhotwrong of the brothercest but in fact it's the hurt/comfort and the fragility of Geoffrey's feelings and their inability to plainly show affection for each other, Richard's knowing descent into their illicit affair, their inability to express affection except with physicality, threats, always trying to get the upper hand until they are both getting what they want that makes this fic amazing to me. Loved this and how it fits into canon.

Cora delivered in spades, but the story is so very beautiful and compelling and it also gave me so much more - the chance to explore the loneliness and despair of Steve's youth, his silent acceptance of young adulthood as a deeply closeted man, a chance meeting at a bar that leads to the first true relationship of his life, the awe of falling in love, and finally, finally truly coming home. Set in America post-WW2 it really leaves you with a feeling of standing on the cusp of change. I hope you give it a chance and love it as much as I do.

Notes: Welcome to my second capbb slide show for the year! This fic is literally The Thing I Needed. Post Endgame Steve/Bucky that's both canon compliant and in character? Get out. The ability to reconcile canon with what we know of Steve and the man he is? Shut the front door. But that's exactly what this author did and it's beautiful. I cried several times. It's the first fic I've read that tackles head on the complex repercussions of the snap and everything that followed. Also, I got to draw ALL THE STEVES. ALL OF THEM. I absolutely love it, and I hope you give it a chance.

They say it guards the lands and all creatures in it, and no hunter has faced it and lived to tell the tale.
Steve doesn’t care about any of that. He only wants to know if it prefers T-Bone or ribeye, and would it please stop tracking dirt through his house? He just mopped the floor.

Notes: tl;dr - I saw "body hair" in the summary that was up for claims and I had to have it. I have never had more fun drawing anything, ever. It didn't hurt that the fic was awesome either lbr. I kind of went to town and I enjoyed it so much that I might visit this town again. I hope you enjoy ♥

When writing my Yuletide fic for John Wick fandom, I noticed there were no other John Wick/Marcus fics. None. NONE. I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE IT. They have so much history, and I can see so much potential to explore: the age gap, their Mentor/Protégé relationship, their shared past, the precarious nature of what they do. Marcus' loyalty - BOTH of them loyal to their bones. THE ANGST. Gods, that ship and fandom are made of angst and loyalty and sacrifice and h/c.
